MSNBC host Joe Scarborough knew exactly who to blame Wednesday morning for Vice President Kamala Harris’ election loss to Donald Trump: racism and misogyny — especially among black voters.
The “Morning Joe” co-host and his wife/colleague Mika Brzezinski sat down with Reverend Al Sharpton for an impassioned session after the vote.
“Democrats must be mature and must be honest. And they should say, ‘Yes, there is misogyny, but it’s not just misogyny from white men,'” Scarborough said in the clip shared by the Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra.
“It’s misogyny from Hispanic men, it’s misogyny from black men — things we’ve all talked about — who don’t want a woman to lead them,” insisted the former GOP congressman from Florida.
Scarborough, 61, also claimed that “there may be racial issues with Hispanics not wanting a black woman as president of the United States.”
Harris’ father is Jamaican-American and her mother was originally from India. If elected, the 60-year-old Harris would be the first female president of the United States.
“The Democratic Party — I’ve always found — when you’re sitting around talking, they like to vulcanize everybody into these particular groups and just say, ‘Oh, white people don’t like women and black people,'” Scarborough. is explained.
“No!” He exclaimed, adding that “it’s time for Democrats to say … too many Hispanic voters have a problem with black candidates.”
“And with other Hispanics!” assembled Sharpton, 70.
“Some of the most misogynistic things I’ve heard, going on this Get Out the Vote tour, have come from black men,” the activist explained. “So you’re absolutely right, it’s not simple.”
The bull session left critics angry.
“Do they have any idea how ridiculous they look? Is everything and everyone racist?” self-proclaimed “California conservative” Elizabeth Burns responded to Saavedra’s X post.
“Let them keep talking like this,” another user shrugged. “They will permanently drive away large blocks of minority voters.”
Some commentators accused Scarborough of racism.
“So according to @JoeNBC, black people didn’t follow the instructions of their white elite masters?” asked an X user. “I think that’s the definition of racism.”
A second asked: “How come rich white people like @JoeNBC think they get to decide for minorities what is or isn’t racist?”
